The Fall 2025 athletics season at Rumsey Hall was one to remember, defined by teamwork, sportsmanship, determination, and outstanding results across every level of competition. Rumsey teams collectively earned an impressive 80 total wins, capturing victories in 75% of their games. From seasoned varsity players to those taking the field or court for the first time, every athlete contributed to a season of shared success.

The Cross Country team finished the season undefeated, while the Blue Dog Bikes mountain biking team captured the Junior Division title. This fall also marked a first for the program — the team hosted its inaugural home race on Rumsey’s new mountain biking track.

The Girls Varsity Field Hockey team delivered one of the school’s most dominant defensive performances in recent years, allowing just five goals all season while scoring 46 against their opponents. This year also marked 50 years of volleyball at Rumsey Hall, a milestone celebrated by athletes and coaches throughout the season. Looking ahead, the school will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Rick Spooner Volleyball Classic next year and anticipates strong alumni turnout for the tournament.

Pickleball lines were added to the courts this fall thanks to Kate and John ’97 Eren P’28, ’31 and Classic Turf. The Rec Tennis program enjoyed the new setup and plans to compete against other schools next year.

Congratulations to all Rumsey athletes and coaches for a remarkable fall season!
