Kindergarten through Grade 9 students will begin taking the NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth assessments for reading and mathematics. These assessments are taken online and adapt to each child’s learning level as they work through the questions. If a child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next question is easier. This process provides a detailed picture of your child’s knowledge and readiness to learn new concepts. This tool also helps us determine each child’s instructional level and track their academic growth throughout the school years. Rumsey will supply all devices for Lower School (K–5) students. Upper School (6–9) students will use their own laptops and must bring them to school fully charged, along with their charging cords. Please note that these tests are not used for secondary school placement. During NWEA testing, students have regular arrival and dismissal.
