Position Opening: Director of Advancement
Rumsey Hall School, a junior boarding and day school of 300+ students in grades K-9 in Washington, Connecticut seeks an engaging and dynamic advancement leader preferably with ten or more years of demonstrated fundraising success at the independent secondary or collegiate level. The successful candidate will have outstanding organizational, motivational, and relationship skills, embrace Rumsey’s mission, represent the School’s ethos and values to external constituencies, and excel in the profession's "best practices".
The School enjoys a strong financial position with an endowment of $28 million and healthy enrollment. It paused its strategic planning work in March when the pandemic hit, but will resume it and lay the groundwork for a capital campaign as circumstances allow.
The Director of Advancement reports to the Head of School, is a member of the senior staff, and is responsible for providing leadership, direction and support to the annual fund, major and planned gifts, parent and alumni engagement, and all other advancement related activities.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume by December 31st to Brooke Giese, Interim Head of School at HR@rumseyhall.org. The start date is negotiable, although we seek to fill the position as soon as possible. The compensation package will be competitive.
Rumsey Hall is strongly committed to fostering a community that reflects the values of a K-9 education and to promoting an environment of equality, inclusion and respect for difference. Rumsey Hall is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, and applications from members of historically underrepresented groups are especially encouraged.
