Afternoon Enrichment Program

Discover, Create, and Grow After the Bell Rings

Pattern

At Rumsey Hall, the end of the academic day is just the beginning of new adventures. From 3:00 to 4:15 p.m., our Afternoon Enrichment Program (AEP) offers Pre-K through IIIrd Form (Grade 5) students a joyful mix of creativity, movement, and hands-on exploration.

The afternoon begins with fifteen minutes of shared recess, followed by an hour of thoughtfully guided enrichment led by Rumsey faculty and skilled local instructors. With a rotating menu of offerings, AEP sparks curiosity, nurtures independence, and encourages students to try new things in a supportive environment.

Designed for Growth at Every Age

  • Grades 1–5: Students choose from a wide range of enrichment activities that align with their interests, supported by family input and teacher guidance.
  • Pre-K and Kindergarten: Younger students enjoy a thoughtfully planned rotation of age-appropriate activities that introduce them to new skills through play, creativity, and routine.

  • Purposeful Variety: Enrichment offerings rotate seasonally to keep afternoons fresh, engaging, and filled with discovery.
  • Led by Experts: Each activity is led by trusted Rumsey faculty or community professionals—artists, musicians, coaches, makers—who bring passion and skill to the program.
  • Leadership & Challenge: Grade 5 students can opt into Upper School athletic teams, giving them the chance to build confidence and leadership through new challenges.
  • Whole-Child Focus: Every afternoon balances physical movement, artistic expression, collaboration, and critical thinking—supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic growth.
