Who We Are

Pattern

Welcome to Rumsey Hall

At Rumsey Hall, everything we do is built around one belief: the early years matter most. While many schools concentrate their resources and energy on high school, we devote ourselves to students in Pre-K through Grade 9—because this is when growth is fastest, character is shaped, and potential is discovered.

Our school is intentionally designed for this pivotal stage of development. Students benefit from an environment tailored to childhood and early adolescence—one that blends structure and support with space to play, explore, and lead. Our faculty are experts not only in what they teach, but in how children and adolescents learn and grow. They build deep relationships with students that extend from the classroom to the playing fields, dorms, and dining halls, creating a sense of community that is both strong and lasting.

Our values of honesty, kindness, and respect are embodied every day. Students are encouraged to take healthy risks, learn from mistakes, and discover who they are in a place where they are truly known. By the time they graduate from Rumsey, our students are not just prepared for secondary school—they’re prepared for life. They leave us confident, self-aware, and ready to thrive in the environment that fits them best.

I invite you to explore our website, but more importantly, I encourage you to visit and feel what sets Rumsey apart. You’ll find a warm, spirited community, a stunning natural campus, and a school committed to helping children become their best selves—at just the right time in their lives.

Warmly,

Brooke Giese P’23, ’27
