Unlike public schools, which receive state or national funds, Rumsey Hall depends solely on tuition income and contributions to the Annual Fund. A robust Annual Fund is a crucial means for enhancing the lives of our students and plays a pivotal role in their educational experience. Dollars raised through the Annual Fund help support Rumsey students in a direct and immediate way and ensure program enrichment and campus improvements. The 2019-2020 Annual Fund begins in the Fall of 2019 and closes on June 30, 2020. Gifts must be received by June 30, 2020 to receive credit for the 2019-2020 Annual Fund. For more information, please contact Director of Advancement Tina Couch ’94 P’28 at firstname.lastname@example.org or 860-868-3332 ext. 101.
Each fall, the Rumsey Hall School hosts its Annual Benefit. The money raised via underwriting contributions and auction proceeds are used to support Rumsey’s students, faculty, and programs both inside and outside the classroom. During the Benefit, attendees are also encouraged to raise their paddles for the Blue Dog Fund, which was launched at the 2017 Benefit. The Blue Dog Fund was established to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial background, are able to participate in all aspects of Rumsey’s culture and community. The event brings together various members of the community, including parents, past parents, and alumni. For more information about the Benefit, please contact Associate Director of Advancement/Parent & Alumni Relations Michelle Rittler at email@example.com or 860-868-3332 ext. 165.
Those members of the Rumsey Hall community who have remembered the School when making testamentary arrangements become members of the Heritage Society. Including Rumsey Hall in your estate planning helps to make the School’s future and the perpetuation of its values more certain. You can find additional information about planned giving at Rumsey here. You may direct planned giving questions to Director of Advancement Tina Couch ’94 P’28 at firstname.lastname@example.org or 860-868-3332 ext. 101.
The Senior Class Gift was established during the 2018-2019 academic year. Each year, families of the graduating class are asked to contribute to the Senior Class Gift in recognition of their child’s Rumsey experience. The Senior Class Gift effort honors the graduates while also creating a meaningful, long-lasting legacy from the Class of 2020 to the School. All contributions to the Senior Class Gift will be credited to the 2019-2020 Annual Fund for participation purposes. For more information, please contact Director of Advancement Tina Couch ’94 P’28 at email@example.com or 860-868-3332 ext. 101.
Gifts to Rumsey Hall’s Endowment help bolster the School’s strong and secure foundation. They are held in perpetuity and invested. A portion of this investment income is designated to directly fuel initiatives and innovations in student programs. This source of enrichment funding is focused on fortifying the School’s highest needs and priorities as determined by Rumsey’s Board of Trustees.
Tribute gifts in honor of the life and legacy of Rick Spooner will support the creation of a Zen Garden that will be a quiet space on campus that represents "Peace and Tranquility" near Spooner Pond. Infamously referred to as Sensei, this dedicated and devoted educator had a profound impact on the hearts and lives of all the students, families, and colleagues he mentored throughout his 47 years at Rumsey Hall.
Honorary bricks engraved with the name and class year of Rumsey Alumni line Senior Square, the walkway of Upper School Street and the Finkelson Family Courtyard as a lasting tribute and celebration of our student's experience at the School. Each year, families of the current graduating class are invited to join in this tradition by naming a brick in their student's honor. New bricks are installed each May, just prior to Commencement.
