Students visit W.E.B. Du Bois National Historic Site
Rumsey's 9th Grade Honors English program provides students with an enriching exploration of literature and history. This year, students read The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Du Bois, delving into themes of race, identity, and resilience. As part of their studies, they learned about Du Bois's legacy as a sociologist, historian, author, civil rights activist, and co-founder of the NAACP. The curriculum included a visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois National Historic Site, allowing students to deepen their understanding of his life and enduring impact on American society.
