Exploring the Riverbed Ecosystems: Sharon Audubon Center Engages Students in Nature
At Rumsey, outdoor adventure is an important part of learning. The patterns, cycles, and energy of the natural world teach us vital lessons on how to live! If you're a student at Rumsey Hall, then you regularly spend class time outside! For instance, Lower School students recently spent time with the Sharon Audubon Center in an engaging science research activity at Treasure Island, our on-campus riverbed.

Sharon Audubon Center educates our community about the ecosystems around us, provides wildlife rehabilitation, and works to conserve our local forests. A big part of their outreach programs is to inspire and educate school children to appreciate, understand, and protect the natural world. In this visit to the Rumsey Hall, they worked with students to learn more about the local wildlife in our own backyard. Students learned important lessons on working together to protect our environments for future generations to come.
