Rumsey Hall School is dedicated to teaching diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) and giving students opportunities for character growth. The VIIth Form class was offered a unique leadership opportunity to apply to participate in the National Association of Independent School’s Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC), which runs concurrently during NAIS’s People of Color Conference (POCC). The SDLC is a multiracial, multicultural gathering of upper school student leaders (grades 9 -12) from across the U.S. and abroad. This year’s theme is “Keeping It Real In Independent Schools - Bringing Our Real Selves, Connecting In Real Time. Making Real Changes”.
We are proud to announce the following six seniors were selected from the pool of applicants to attend this year’s conference: Mason Jarvis, Junho Lee, Zimo Liu, Taylor Manchanda, Indie Merril, and Mariana Rojas.
These students will develop cross-cultural communication skills, design effective strategies for social justice practice through dialogue and the arts, and learn the foundations of allyship and networking principles.
The SDLC takes place online December 1 to December 4, during the interim period. We are also pleased to announce that Rumsey Hall will offer the opportunity to attend POCC to faculty, staff, and administrators. Please join us in celebrating the leadership of the VIIth Form class.
