Rumsey Joins the Fight Against Food Insecurity in our Local Communities

The Rumsey Circle Parents Association (RCPA) organized a special project to help fight food insecurity in our local communities. The RCPA invited our families to create their own Rumsey-themed jar or container to support the Daily Bread Food Pantry in Danbury, CT. Every time a family member or friend mentioned Rumsey-related words like "homework", "Blue Dogs", or "I miss my friends," they had to drop some spare change into the jar.

With the return to in-person learning this week, members of our Advancement Office counted all the contributions and are thrilled to announce that this initiative raised a total of $700!

Additionally, the encouragement to raise funds for the Daily Bread Food Pantry inspired meaningful family conversations about supporting those in need, especially those in our local community.

The "Rumsey on My Mind" project inspired families to make donations to several other local organizations in addition to the Daily Bread Food Pantry, including the Sharon Audubon Center and Vecinos Seguros.

Thank you to our families and to the members of the RCPA, especially Treasurer Kate Eren P'28, for having a positive impact on our Blue Dog family and for helping us make a difference in our community.
