Rumsey Hall Brings Families Together for Parents Weekend

Rumsey Hall recently welcomed families for Upper School Fall Parents' Day, offering an opportunity for parents to engage with the school and their children's educational experience.

Kicking off on Friday, October 18, the weekend began with the 36th annual auction, celebrating Rumsey Hall's 125th anniversary. Attendees enjoyed a lively evening filled with gourmet bites, live music from Four Track, and both silent and live auctions that showcased the generosity of the Rumsey community.

As Saturday unfolded, the campus buzzed with energy, welcoming families for a packed day. Boarding families took part in Parent Conferences, meeting with faculty to discuss their children's progress. The All School Assembly featured remarks from Head of School Ian Craig, recognition of student accomplishments, and standout musical performances by the Rumsey Hall Chorus, Blue Dog Voices, and Hand Chimes. A special session for VII Form parents addressed the secondary school counseling process, underscoring the school's commitment to guiding students as they navigate their educational paths.

In the afternoon, parents and students filled the campus to cheer on Rumsey’s athletic teams, which enjoyed an impressive sweep across all four varsity games. The girls' varsity soccer team secured a 5-2 victory over The Frederick Gunn School, while the varsity field hockey team dominated with a 6-0 win against the same opponent. The boys' varsity soccer team triumphed with a resounding 7-0 win over Wooster School, and the varsity volleyball team completed the successful day by beating Taft School III’s 3-0.
