Why did the owl join a band? Because it had a hoot for music! During their visit to the Sharon Audubon Center, the Primes class from Rumsey delved deep into the captivating world of birds. Engaging with live birds of prey and an array of bird-related studying tools. They absorbed knowledge about bird biology, conservation, ecology, and survival adaptations. From understanding the intricacies of predator/prey dynamics to discerning the disparities between herbivores and carnivores, the students were immersed in a hands-on learning experience. They eagerly participated in dissecting owl pellets, unraveling the mysteries of the food chain while gaining invaluable insights into the delicate balance of nature. Taking with them newfound knowledge, and an appreciation for the avian world and its intricate ecosystems.
