Lower School Plants New Tree on Campus
This week the Lower School Student Council successfully concluded its Team Tree Initiative, which was launched after Earth Day. Working in collaboration with Mr. Johnson from the school's maintenance department, the Council identified a suitable location for planting a new tree in the playground. Together, they came up with four options for trees, and the Council held a Lower School vote during recess to determine which tree to plant.
During recess on Monday, the Council helped Mr. Johnson plant a Black Tupelo tree up on the hill of our playground.
To further support their efforts, the Council hosted two "Play Clothes for a Dollar or More" fundraisers on Monday and Friday. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to Team Trees, a non-profit organization dedicated to planting trees worldwide. For each dollar donated, one tree will be planted, making a lasting impact on our environment.
