Upper School Remains Distance Learning and Lower School Returns to Campus

November 13, 2020

Dear Rumsey Hall Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your patience and support while we performed contact tracing for the staff member, the student, and the faculty member who have tested positive for COVID-19. We have notified the families of all students who are considered close contacts or potential contacts. If you have not heard from us, you may conclude that your child is not a close contact or a potential contact.

No Lower School teachers or students have tested positive for COVID-19, nor have any teachers been identified as close contacts; therefore, we are confidently able to resume Lower School classes on site on Monday.

Given the number of Upper School teachers and students who have been identified as close contacts, we have made the decision to continue 100% Distance Learning in the Upper School  through next week. While none of the close contacts have tested positive, we want to do everything possible to keep our community healthy as we approach the Thanksgiving Recess. We will continue to follow the 100% Distance Learning schedule through November 20th.

We understand that this decision may be inconvenient for some, but we trust that you will understand that we must give our very highest priority to the safety and health of our community. We remain proud of how well our school adhered to the COVID-19 guidelines during the fall term, testifying once again to what a strong community we have. Our universal precautions, our testing protocols, and the commitment of our entire community have allowed us to remain healthy and safe.
