Academics

On Campus Learning

Our classrooms support physical distancing, hand washing, and safety consciousness. We spaced our learning areas out, assigned seats, adjusted the number of students to the size of the classroom, and utilized a variety of new spaces to allow for lower classroom density.

Hybrid Learning

We are committed to providing an academic program for all students that provides the best balance of challenge and support for the individual.  We modified our academic program so that we're able to alternate easily between in-person and online learning as needed. While our goal is to prioritize in-person instruction, this approach will allow us to be flexible and meet the remote participation needs of students or faculty who are unable to return to campus due to travel restrictions or health issues. As long as infection rates remain at lower levels and state and local guidelines permit, classes will be conducted in a manner that prioritizes in-person instruction and also allows for full remote participation for those who cannot be present.

Short-Term Remote Learning

In this new landscape, educating our students means pivoting as smoothly as possible between in-person and remote learning, and a mix of the two; subsequently, we have adjusted our program to further support our students who need to move between in-person and remote learning for a short period of time.

In Person, Hybrid, and Distance-Learning: Frequently Asked Questions

In-Person Learning Program

The School’s continuation of in-person operations hinges on the entire community observing a wide range of public health measures to ensure everyone’s health and safety, including physical distancing, face coverings, frequent hand washing, daily health screening, and COVID-19 testing.

Hybrid-Distance Learning Program

Through a wide variety of professional development experiences, our faculty have deepened their craft in this mode of teaching. Student experience in this model will vary depending on the student’s age, developmental needs, and time zone in which they live.

100% Distance Learning Program

We recognize that distance learning is not fully able to replicate the experience of being together on campus where teachers and students learn through personal interactions. However, when circumstances require campus closure, teachers are able to use various forms of technology to continue instruction and engage students in learning. We utilize forms of technology that support students in adapting to a developmentally-appropriate distance-learning approach.

Short-Term Remote Learning

Short-term remote learning students are set up with the option to attend classes from home for a short period of time and takes part in classes remotely whenever possible.
