Welcome to Rumsey Athletics!

Rumsey Hall’s Athletic Program centers on the philosophy that hard work and steady effort lead to success. Perseverance, attitude, good sportsmanship and the camaraderie between teammates and coaches define the long history and tradition of Blue Dog Spirit. The program offers a full schedule of competitive and non-competitive teams for IIIrd (5th Grade) through VIIth (9th Grade) Form students, supporting all levels of play. Students build lasting skills and cultivate a passion for many sports by participating in fall, winter and spring season athletics each school year.

Interscholastic Sports
Rumsey offers more than 30 interscholastic teams. Everyone has the chance to play, whether they’ve played the sport before or are trying it for the first time. Our coaches are all members of our faculty, and their goals are to teach the game, to help each student improve and to foster an environment that emphasizes effort, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Recreational Adventures
Rumsey Hall’s wooded campus and rural location provide many opportunities for healthy outdoor fun in the Bantam River Valley. A highlight of our recreational options is Rumsey Outdoor Adventure (ROA), which includes hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, mastering the low ropes course, canoeing, archery and learning wilderness skills.
