Dining Hall

CulinArt Inc. provides the Dining Services program at Rumsey Hall School. We share our “food-first philosophy” with the School Community, presenting a unique combination of modern cuisine and comfort-style fare with a strong focus on nutrition, wellness and sustainability.

In the private school sector, CulinArt maintains a contemporary approach to the school dining room, from exhibition cooking to custom built-to-order specialty salads. CulinArt similarly recognizes the diversity in multi-cultural appetites and nutritional needs, and works hand-in-hand with school administrators, our corporate culinary development team, on-site management and chef, and the company’s registered dietitian to create mutually pleasing healthy menus and food choices.  We provide Rumsey Hall School students with dining experiences that include a full breakfast program, hearty entrees, meatless options, sandwich station and our signature salad bar.

CulinArt is a staunch proponent of the USDA’s ChooseMyPlate program which provides recommendations on what and how much to eat and reminds students to be physically active every day.  Our registered dietitian regularly visits Rumsey with educational “Lunch & Learn” programs dedicated to raising awareness of ChooseMyPlate as a replacement for the outdated Food Guide Pyramid.

CulinArt partners with local farms and markets to present a consistent program of local and organic produce and other products.  As an example, Arethusa Farm & Dairy, in Litchfield, CT supplies the school with fresh milk deliveries.  CulinArt is able to access well over thirty local farms to provide the freshest local meats, dairy, fruits and vegetables. Along with local and organic selections, we also offer whole wheat pasta; whole wheat pizza dough; whole wheat, multi-grain and organic breads and a variety of juices. 

•   CulinArt is a scratch-cooking and baking company. We do not purchase or serve quick-serve, prepared food items.

•   Local and Organic fruits and produces will be served as seasonally available.

•   Specialty built-to-order entrée salads are offered.

•   We offer multiple vegetarian choices daily.

•   Our Chef’s Table has rotating options of stir-fry, specialty wraps, grilled sandwiches and roasted turkey, ham or top round carvery.
