VI Form Students Study Bridge Design and Construction
Posted February 22, 2013
The VI Form physical science students recently participated in the annual Pasta Bridge Challenge, a lesson designed to demonstrate the essential elements of bridge architecture and engineering. Students also learned the importance and strength of triangles in bridge construction. Each team designed and built their bridge out of fettuccini pasta to span a 30 cm opening and be wide enough for a toy car. The success of each design was determined by comparing the weight of a bridge to the weight it could hold.
