Varsity Football (boys)
Highly competitive, demanding. Nine-game schedule. Generally
for Forms VI, VII and some V.
Junior Football (boys)
Competitive program geared toward youngsters' abilities. Six-game
schedule. Generally for Forms IV, V and some VI.
Varsity Soccer (boys)
Competitive and extensive schedule, fifteen games, one tournament.
Rumsey's top soccer players. Generally for Forms V, VI and
VII (limited roster).
Varsity B Soccer (boys)
Fifteen-game schedule, competitive. Strong emphasis on fundamentals.
Generally for Forms V, VI and VII.
Junior Blue Soccer (boys)
Competitive program for beginners as well as skilled players.
Fourteen-game schedule. Fundamentals stressed. Generally for
Forms II, III, IV and some V.
Cross-Country (co-ed)
Competitive program with a ten race schedule. Generally for
forms IV, V, VI and VII. Junior Red Soccer (boys) Instructional
program for beginners who enjoy playing soccer. A few contests
are scheduled to monitor progress. Fundamentals stressed.
Generally for Forms I, II and III.
Varsity Field Hockey (girls)
Thirteen-game competitive schedule, one scrimmage. This group
generally includes girls in Forms V, VI and VII.
Varsity B Field Hockey (girls)
Eleven-game schedule. Emphasis on learning rules and fundamentals.
Generally for Forms IV, V, VI and some VII.
Junior Field Hockey (girls)
An instructional program for beginners to work on field hockey
skills and learn the fundamentals of this sport. Generally
for Forms I, II and III.
ROA (co-ed)
The goal of Rumsey Outdoor Adventure "ROA" is to
offer fun wilderness trips and activities that will create
opportunities for students to learn leadership skills, develop
a connection for students to the natural world and strengthen
the school community. The program offers wilderness-backpacking
trips on selected weekends and a daily sports program that
teaches a small group of students to become outdoor adventure
leaders.
Riding (co-ed)
Available at extra cost. There are all levels of instruction
available. Riding can be a part-time activity along with the
Outing Club. Forms I - VII.
Outing Club (co-ed)
A non-competitive program featuring hiking, field trips, and
outdoor activities. Great for the adventurous young child
who enjoys the outdoors and new game activities. Generally
for Forms II - VII.
Afternoon Sports
This is a co-ed clinic-based program, which offers an
introduction to a variety of sports, such as baseball/softball,
floor hockey, field hockey, flag football, soccer and basketball.
Hiking, bowling, archery and games are additional activities in
this program. The focus is on teaching good sportsmanship, rules
of the game and teamwork while the underlying purpose is to
provide the students with enough knowledge of each sport to make
a conscientious choice when choosing which team to join in
Form IV. Forms I-III.
P.E. for Fun (co-ed)
This program is geared for Lower School students in forms
K through Primes who want a non-competitive program which
includes playing outdoor games and physical education activities.
Emphasis is on plain fun!
