Language Skills

The Language Skills Department offers individualized programs designed to meet the needs of students with a moderate degree of dyslexia or moderate learning differences. Scheduled during the academic day, the program offers one-on-one instruction five times a week by teachers trained in the use of the Orton-Gillingham method. Three teachers are also trained in the Wilson method. Each course is designed to meet the needs of the individual student. The mechanics of reading, reading comprehension, spelling, written expression, organizational and study skills are stressed.
